With a new Firefox feature, Facebook Messenger shows up on the side of your browser window. The integration allows you to see which of your Facebook friends are online, and chat just as you might from Facebook’s website without having it open in your browser window.

The idea is that you can keep up with what’s happening on the social network without having to constantly switch between tabs in order to do so.

In addition to keeping up with chats, the feature also lets you see instant notifications when new comments are made on your posts and when you’re tagged in photos.

This is just the beginning; Mozilla plans to add support for more features in the future, as well as support for multiple providers.
