Facebook has made video even more social by introducing a new feature into users’ news feeds-‘Trending Videos’.

The new feature is similar to the recently introduced “trending articles” that highlights news articles that are popular among the users’ friends, noted by a tech site called TNW.

The trending is based on what a user’s friends are watching, using apps connected to Facebook’s Open Graph.

Such a feature appears to be Facebook’s way of re-surfacing content a user might have missed due to the real-time nature of the news feed, TNW added.

But some people had been annoyed with the trending articles, “so it’ll be interesting to see how well this does, It’s great news for apps like Viddy and Socialcam, since its content will be shown more than ever before”, TNW said.
