Shami Witness, a Twitter activist who supported the dissemination of Islamic State (IS) message to the world and who had more than 17,000 followers over Twitter has his account deactivated after Channel 4 revealed its true identity as an executive in a Bangalore-based corporation. Witness has become one of the most famous supporters of IS as he actively twitted his support for the group.
IS, on the other hand has not been heard or seen over Twitter since July after the platform restricted its posts and its supporters. Diaspora also banned the group’s tweets.
Despite Witness’ deactivation, some still believe that he continuously supports IS under the radar.
